Disengaged candidates hit the snooze button not once, but twice.

Owning your day starts with owning your alarm clock. Disengaged Candidates: Alarm clock 2, Candidates 0. The alarm clock got the two points of the day. Some people never recover from hitting snooze in the morning...

Some people I talk with - hit snooze more than once, twice, three times and on.

Pay attention to the “Snooze Button”. Unemployment is low. Business is good but many workers are staying in jobs, despite being bored. People are waking up, hitting snooze and not wanting to face their job.

According to Gallup -  About 68% of workers are disengaged from their jobs. Basically, if you have a team of 10 people about 6 or 7 of them are checked out. I bet they hit snooze before going to work. How can you grow a business like that?

The other day, I spoke with a Python Software Engineer type of candidate. He is also the type who hits snooze before he goes to work. His company just filed for an IPO, but they have hired many talented engineers, like him, who like to create clean code and instead turned them into testers and doers of mundane things. The pay is good, but the work not so much.

I have hit snooze before and it’s not a good way to start your day. Own your day. Get After It. Say no to snooze.
