People work without collars now

no collar = new collar

no collar = new collar

I meet many CEOs and executives who do not wear a collard shirt. We are working in an era of where no collars, are the new collars and saying goodbye to the blue collars and white collars. Technology is the only thing that is moving us forward, not the type of clothes we wear while we work...

We often hear that A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) is going to change everything and make people behave in bad ways. The talk of A.I. reminds me of the late 1990s, right before the year 2000, when everyone was talking about the Y2K bug...

What ended up happening? Nothing, except for billions of dollars the consultants and training companies made who ended up launching a career out of the dangers of Y2K.

A.I. is revolutionary and those “smart” people (like Elon Musk and Stephen Hawking) take it seriously. We should stop fantasizing about all the monsters A.I. will create and instead treat it as a new technology and embrace how A.I. can help our jobs and life - making our work and life balance a little better.

I don’t know what A.I. will do and I don’t think anyone does either. As we progress in our society I do believe that as technology becomes more and more prevalent in our lives, in general humans will want to do good with said technology. Recruit people who get technology.

People frequently talk about how things are going to change or they talk about how they need to change to keep up. The hardest thing to do is to actually take the first step and change. Talk is cheap. Change takes work. Try asking Siri or Alexa for advice on how you can change. Oh, and by the way, small reminder, Siri and Alexa do not wear a collar.

P.S. - According to a study by Computerlove in the U.K., 20% of people want their voice assistance to help them be “funnier or more attractive”.
